Telford Fostering is the local authority fostering service for Telford and Wrekin Council.
We provide support for local children with the aim of finding them a secure and caring home. We have a successful track record of placing looked after children with our own foster carers in the borough. Children placed with our own internal foster carers have good outcomes and are able to take advantage of all our local facilities.
With so many different children currently in need of care, potentially anyone over the age of 21 can foster providing they can offer a safe and loving environment.
Telford Fostering are always looking for carers from varying backgrounds, religions and cultures in an effort to place children with families that match their requirements.
Certain qualities are preferred including experience of listening to children, the confidence to handle difficult situations and the flexibility to try out new things. If you have experience of looking after disabled children or children with challenging behaviour, we have children waiting for just the right foster family to come along.
We also look for people who have the commitment and determination to see things through, alongside a willingness to be honest with the fostering team. Being a foster parent can be demanding and the team is here to help as much as possible.
Of course, a spare bedroom is necessary, as all of our children need a bedroom of their own.
If you feel you can meet the needs mentioned above and are looking to make a difference to a child’s life, why not check out Telford Fostering and ‘Choose to Foster and give a child a better tomorrow’.
